- Did anyone critique your work this week? If so, what were their impressions?
There weren’t any critiques of my work this week, but I did have a few discussions. The main topic of discussion was the shift and a return to the personal in my work. It was generally agreed that it could prove a successful method of working.
- What was the most motivational or creative moment of the past week?
Researching other documentary filmmakers and reading up on personal documentaries provided some hope that there is a way to tell an interesting story while still creating a critical dialogue.
- What do you want to achieve in next week's studio practice?
I want to begin shooting footage, recording meeting conversations and compiling the mass amount of data as I collect it. First, I need to find my voice recorder.
- What did you achieve in your studio this past week?
To create and begin to understand a plan for my work this semester.
- What has been an artistic failure this week?
I still have not shot anything.
- What was the most profound thought in relation to your practice this week?
Postmodernism is dead, the personal story is the best way to create an interesting meaningful piece of art.
